Be part of the Constitution amending proccess!

Prishtina, 28 September 2011 – Democracy in Action in co-operation with the parliamentary Committee for amending the Constitution today launched the campaign to precizely and on time inform the citizens regarding the amendment of the Constitution as well as to increase their awareness on the effects of this process. Also, this campaign will aim at ensuring active participation of citizens and the latter’s contribution during public consultations that will be organised in 11 cities around Kosovo.

Democracy in Action – part of the Working Group on Elections

Pristina, July 06 2011, On Wednesday Kosovo Assembly, respectively the ad-hoc Parliamentary Committee on Amending of the General Election Law established the Working Group on Elections (WGO). By decision of this committee, Democracy in Action representative ie leader of the coalition Mr. Ismet Kryeziu, was selected as one of twenty members that constitute this committee. WGO members voted for Ms. Valdete Daka as the Chairperson of the Group.

Lessons Learned from the 2010 Parliamentary Elections & The Needs for an Electoral Reform

Pristina, 15 April 2011 – Coalition of NGOs “Democracy in Action” organized a Post Election Conference with the topic “Lessons Learned from the 2010 Parliamentary Elections & The Needs for an Electoral Reform”; where the discussion was headed toward the election process in general and the best practices for a more substantial and comprehensive election reform.

Workshop: “Civil Society Organizations input on the Draft Report on Parliamentary Election Monitoring Report 2010 and the need for an Election Reform”

Prishtinė, 29 March 2011, Democracy in Action on Tuesday organized a workshop on the topic “Civil Society Organizations input on the Draft Report on Parliamentary Election Monitoring Report 2010 and the need for an Election Reform”. In this workshop participants from civil society organizations, local and regional experts discussed regarding the Draft Report on 2010 Parliamentary Elections Monitoring as well as for the Electoral Legislation Amendments Analysis.

Prishtinė, 23 January 2011- Coalition of NGOs Democracy in Action is observing voting process in the Municipality of Mitrovica with 130 static observers and 20 mobile teams observers.
Our observers have reported that all polling stations are opened and voting process has started in time. During the reporting period were not recorded any irregularity.

Preliminary statement concerning the process of voting in Municipalities of Skenderajt, Drenasit, Deēanit and in two voting centres in Malishevė and Lipjan

Democracy in Action is coalition of Kosovar nongovernmental organizations. It was established on 2007, most of them had previous experience in monitoring of the elections. Democracy in Action supports promotion of the free and fair elections as essential part of a democratic society. Main aim of the Democracy in Action is to ensure election process based on international standards and political leadership that inspires trust amongst citizens.

Pristina, January 9, 2011 - The coalition of NGOs Democracy in Action is monitoring the revoting process in the municipalities of Skenderaj, Drenas, Decani and two pooling centers in the Lipjan Malishevė.
As reported by our observers on the field, up to 8:00AM all polling stations opened on time, except for the polling station 2114b/01r, where there was a delay of 15 minutes, apparently because of the delay Commissioners.

The coalition of NGOs Democracy in Action is monitoring the elections in all of Kosovo’s poll stations. More than 5,000 elections monitors will be engaged across Kosovo to ensure free and fair elections.
All polling stations are now open, despite a few delays due to problems in the delivery of sensitive materials.
