Terms of Reference

Background

The Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI) is the leading organization of Democracy in Action (DiA), a coalition of non-governmental organizations that work to promote free and fair elections in Kosovo. DiA supports improvements in the electoral process through voter education activities, electoral reform advocacy, and monitoring of the election process.

Currently DiA is consolidating its network to observe the upcoming local elections scheduled on Nov 3 2013 in Kosovo. DiA is therefore seeking a Media and Public Relations Officer who will work part time for a period of two months, with the possibility of extension, to develop a comprehensive communication strategy that will be used by DiA during the election process.

Scope of Work
 

The Media and PR Officer will be responsible for the following tasks:

Develop an information and communication strategy based on DiA requirements.
Prepare communication forms and protocols to be used by DiA in the future.
  Draft press releases and other forms of communication for the media.
  Maintain and update the DiA social media pages.
  Prepare information materials for the DiA website.
  Develop creative campaign messages for voter education activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
  Bachelor degree in relevant field Public Relations, Communications or other.

Masters degree preferred.

  At least three years of work experience on public relation and information.
  Knowledge and experience in developing communication strategies.
  Proficiency in the English language in writing, speaking and understanding.
  Be able to work part-time (4-5 hours per day) for a period of two months July-Sept, with the possibility of extension.
